International rugby union club competition the Pro14 has agreed a sponsorship deal with Japanese automotive manufacturer Honda.
The deal names Honda as the official car partner of this season’s Pro14 Final Series. The final of this season’s Pro14 will take place at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on May 26.
Honda will provide exclusive offers to supporters such as access to the Captain’s Run ahead of the final, with competitions for mini rugby and women’s rugby to be launched.
This year marks the league’s first season under its Pro14 guise following the addition of South Africa’s former Super Rugby franchises the Cheetahs and Southern Kings. The competition was formerly known as the Pro12 and was previously made up of European teams.
Dermot Rigley, commercial and marketing director for Pro14 Rugby, said: “As the Guinness Pro14 has reached out into the southern hemisphere this season, it’s quite fitting that our car partner for the Final Series should be such a world-renowned brand as Honda.”
