Fiji Airways has signed up as the official airline of the Fiji International golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
The deal will run for three years, from 2015 to 2017, starting with this year’s event from October 15-18.
“The Fiji International boasts a fantastic global television platform which reaches our key markets,” Fiji Airways board director Stefan Pichler said. “We see this partnership as an investment in Fiji itself with golf tourism now on the rise as a result of the Fiji International.
"We see the potential in tapping into the ever growing global golf tourism market and now that Fiji is considered a golf destination, we will use this partnership in our marketing and PR efforts to boost our profile in key markets like Australia, New Zealand, the US and Asia.”
The 2015 event will take place at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course. Australia's Steven Jeffress (pictured) won the inaugural tournament in 2014.
