Real estate developer Dubai Properties Group has expanded its partnership with the United Arab Emirates Basketball Association.
DPG has agreed a deal to sponsor the UAE national basketball team and domestic competition the UAE Basketball League, which will take on the official title of the Dubai Properties Group UAE Basketball League for the 2015-16 season.
The company’s association with the national team will provide homegrown players with more opportunities to compete for their country at regional and international championships.
Abdulla Al-Ansari, secretary general of the UAE Basketball Association, said: “The diversity of our players between UAE nationals and residences will reinforce (and) encourage the wider public to get into healthy and active living, which can only be achieved through better sporting resources, and more incentives for our youth to compete on local and international levels.”
