Beer brand Cerveza Águila has become the new title sponsor of Colombia’s main club football competitions.
The El Tiempo newspaper said the deal, between Dimayor, which runs Colombia’s professional club competitions, and the Bavaria brewery, is worth $40m (€32m) over five years, from 2015 to 2020.
Cerveza Aguila will be the sponsor of the Liga, Torneo, Copa and Superliga competitions.
The El Heraldo newspaper reported that banking group BBVA Banco, beverage company Heineken and energy firm Pacific Rubiales were also involved in the bidding process.
The previous sponsor was beverage company Postobon, which signed a five-year contract from 2010-2014.
Cerveza Aguila is already a shirt sponsor of Colombian teams Deportes Tolima, Atlético Huila, Millonarios, Atlético Junior, Deportivo Pasto and Cúcuta Deportivo.
Atletico Nacional is the reigning Liga champion.
