Norwegian energy company Equinor has renewed its sponsorship of the Arctic Race of Norway cycling event.
Equinor will continue to serve as the event’s main partner until 2021. As part of the deal, Equinor will work with race organisers to encourage cooperation and development at local and regional level in Northern Norway.
The Arctic Race of Norway is the northernmost cycling event in the world and was formed in 2013.
Reidar Gjærum, senior vice-president for corporate communication at Equnior, said: “The Arctic Race of Norway has become one of Norway’s most popular sports events, and Northern Norway is strategically important to Equinor. We want to help promote the region and drive industrial development and growth. We look forward both to this year’s Arctic Race of Norway, and to our further partnership.”
This year’s Arctic Race of Norway gets underway tomorrow (Thursday) and runs until Sunday. Belgium’s Dylan Teuns (pictured) is the defending champion.
