Belgian ProLeague football team RSC Anderlecht has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with insurance and financial services company Allianz.
The German-based firm is a well-established presence in football sponsorship as the title sponsor of Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.
Wilfred Neven, chairman of the executive committee of Allianz Benelux hopes the tie-up with Anderlecht can serve to further build the company’s brand in Belgium.
He said: “This is an important step in expanding our brand awareness to the general public in Belgium. We hope in this way as a global insurer further strengthen our position in the market.”
Defending 33-time Belgian champion Anderlecht is currently top of the ProLeague. The financial terms of its deal with Allianz were not disclosed.
The club lists online betting group Bwin, Coca-Cola and energy company Electrabel GDF Suez as its official sponsors.
