GERMANY IS experiencing rapid industrial growth and no more than in its prosperous southern region of Bavaria. Not only is the region home to industrial heavyweights BMW and MAN but has also spawned several fast growing technology companies. Recent start-ups have included Greenrobot which has found success in mobile technology, and Solarwatt which has capitalised on high demand for solar panels boosted by a favourable tax regime. A Munich Winter Olympics would always be well funded but the range of commercial partners might be particularly interesting. - 15/3/2011
