Lloyds gets the prize at the end of its Olympic journey

LLOYDS TSB signed up as an Olympic sponsor way back in 2007 in the heady and optimistic days before the credit crunch, the financial crisis, PPI mis-selling, banker bashing and of course the recession. Lloyds was the first domestic partner to sign up, setting the pace for others like British Airways and BT to follow. The £80m deal was the biggest the bank had done and a big boost at the time to LOCOG’s commercial programme.
