Australian suspicions of Huawei undermine sponsorships but it remains one to watch

HUAWEI IS ONE of the largest companies you’ve never heard of. The Chinese technology company has moved from its roots in low-cost mobile handsets to supply industrial scale telecoms systems which provide the backbone networks for broadband in the UK and New Zealand. Although it is a leader in filing new patents its links to the military back home have made potential buyers suspicious of its motives.
