Kraft facing a grilling from governments and shareholders

IT'S THE WORLD'S second-largest food company and produces some of our favourite confectionary brands but Kraft is facing criticism on several sides of its business. The manufacturer of Cadbury confectionary, Kenco coffee, Terry’s Chocolate Orange and triangular Toblerone is under pressure from the UK government to explain why it broke promises on closing factories. CEO Irene Rosenfeld is taking a tough line and facing down the regulators but she may have a harder time with shareholders. Kraft’s performance has disappointed investors who are concerned she has shrunk Cadbury’s sales since a controversial $18bn takeover in 2010. - 17/3/2011
