GERMANY IS EXPERIENCING “roaring” economic growth according to the departing Bundesbank president Axel Weber. The economy expanded 3.6% in 2010 and GDP is on track to grow an additional 2.5% in 2011 according to the central banker’s forecasts. Domestic demand is fuelling much of the expansion which helps explain why sponsorship of German sport is doing so well. In the first few months of 2011 German handball signed a deal with Hummel, volleyball netted adidas and Erima, sailing tied down Audi and SAP, and skiing recruited Hublot. - 9/3/2011
