SHARES IN some key gaming sponsors have risen sharply on the news that one German state has voted in favour of online gambling. The vote by Schleswig-Holstein is expected to put pressure on other German states and would reverse concerns that online sports betting, betting exchange and poker were being blocked in an important gaming market. Bwin.party which is a major European football sponsor with links to Borsussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen makes 22% of its revenue from Germany and its shares rose nearly 10% on the news.
