DAIMLER GROUP is expanding its relationship with beach volleyball by signing a presenting sponsorship deal for the FIVB 2011 World Cup. The event will be renamed the Swatch FIVB Beach Volleyball World Cup 2011, powered by Smart which may be a bit of mouthful but does chime with the youthful image of the event. Rome is host of the event in mid June and with the Italian’s history of compact cars Smart may be the brand to promote the German auto maker’s most funky brand. - 6/6/2011
