Coke ad spend up as Winter Olympic campaign

COCA-COLA spent almost $3bn on advertising in 2010 an increase of 4.5% over 2009 despite concerns over the state of the global economy. As an IOC TOP sponsor its campaign around the Vancouver Winter Olympics was a highpoint of the year. The ‘Open the Games. Open Happiness’ campaign featured well-known Olympians and Olympic themed products. Coke’s turnover was up 16% year on year but profits almost doubled from $6.8bn to almost $12bn in 2010. - 7/3/2011
