Spain’s LaLiga and title sponsor Santander have announced new plans to rebrand the country's second division.

Spain’s LaLiga has extended its title sponsorship with Spanish bank Santander. Under the new deal, Santander will continue to title sponsor the league until the end of the 2020-21 season.

Spanish bank Santander has extended its LaLiga title sponsorship by one season – 2020-21 – at a similar fee, SportBusiness Sponsorship has learned. The deal was signed in March.

Despite an anticipated 35-per-cent uplift in the value of its Champions League and Europa League commercial revenue from 2018-19 to 2020-21, two brands will pay less for their rights in the next cycle.
