WTA serves up new financial services partner

The Women’s Tennis Association has entered into a partnership with financial services company Cambridge Global Payments.

The three-year deal will run from 2017 to 2019 and names Cambridge as the official and exclusive international payments provider of the WTA.

Cambridge will be responsible for fulfilment of prize money and corporate foreign exchange services for the WTA and its members, which include tournaments and players. The WTA will oversee the handling of the programme in conjunction with Cambridge.

“Cambridge's in-depth knowledge and expertise in managing many international, and often complicated, financial transactions set them apart – especially when time-sensitive payments and on-demand delivery are a must,” WTA chief executive and chairman Steve Simon said. “Their commitment to excellence reflects the high standards we expect at the WTA and we look forward to this partnership.”
