West Brom extends partnership with local university

English Premier League football club West Bromwich Albion has signed an extension to its sponsorship deal with the University of Wolverhampton.

Under the agreement, the university will remain as the club’s further education partner for an added two years until 2019. The relationship began four years ago.

As part of the deal, the university will feature on the big screens at The Hawthorns stadium, as well as in joint promotions across social media and the club’s digital channels.

The university will receive a hospitality package for key matches, while West Brom will have a presence at university open days.

The club is also looking to develop internship and work placement opportunities for students across several departments.

West Brom’s chief commercial officer, Simon King, said: “The university continues to symbolise everything we look for when forming new partnerships. A clear ambition to develop on an international scale, without losing touch of the importance of close community links.”
