San Francisco-based financial services firm Wells Fargo has reached a five-year agreement with tournament host organisation Champions for Education to extend its title sponsorship of the Wells Fargo Championship PGA Tour golf event through 2019.
In addition to the renewal, competition organisers announced the 2017 Championship will be held at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, North Carolina, when regular host Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte hosts that year’s PGA Championship – one of golf’s four majors.
The 2014 Wells Fargo Championship is scheduled for May 1-4.
Last year, US golfer Derek Ernst claimed his maiden PGA Tour victory at the event.
