Volkswagen has signed up Brazil national football team legend Pele as a brand ambassador to represent the automotive company during the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympic Games in the South American country.
The deal was negotiated by Pele’s exclusive global agent Legends 10 in conjunction with Mediacom Sport.
Pele will represent the brand on a day-to-day basis by driving Volkswagen vehicles and taking part in special events.
The first of these events will be as part of a campaign celebrating 60 years of Volkswagen in Brazil, and will feature Pele leading a group of Brazilian football icons including Lucas, Neymar, Rai and Rivellino.
