Universidad de Chile secures long-term Adidas commitment

Leading Chilean football club Universidad de Chile has announced a seven-year extension to its kit deal with German sportswear giant Adidas.

The agreement takes effect from January 2015 and is worth $33m (€23.9m), or $4.7m per season to the Primera Division team.

Universidad de Chile will receive additional revenue from sales of its licensed Adidas products and, allowing for expected exposure in national and international tournaments, the club believes the value of the agreement could eventually exceed $45m.

Jose Yuraszeck, president of Universidad de Chile, hailed the deal as the “greatest achieved by any Chilean soccer club”.
