Sports brand Umbro has signed as the new ball partner for the Confederation of African Football (Caf) and the exclusive ball supplier for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
As the exclusive ball partner, Umbro will supply the Caf with its ‘Neo Pro’ ball for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be played this June and July.
Tom Grzelak, head of brand at Umbro Middle East and Egypt, said: “Football is the biggest sport in Africa and as an authentic sports brand deeply rooted in football, we believe this partnership is a perfect match. Moreover, the tournament being played in Egypt will further reinforce Umbro’s brand presence in the country.“
Fans will be able to buy the official replica ball in selected sports stores in Egypt and UAE.
In its role as ball supplier, Umbro also has deals with the Coupe de la Ligue in France and the Liga Nacional de Futsal in Brazil.
As a kit supplier, Umbro recently extended its biggest club deals with Premier League Everton, from 2019-20 to 2021-22, and West Ham United, from 2019-20 to 2022-23. In total, Umbro sponsors more than 120 clubs worldwide.
