The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has agreed a sponsorship deal with telecommunications group Ooredoo ahead of the national team’s key Fifa World Cup qualifier against Libya tomorrow (Saturday).
The four-year agreement runs until 2021 and covers all Tunisian national teams. Ooredoo replaces Tunisie Telecom in the role of main sponsor of Tunisia’s teams.
Tunisia only needs a point from its home game against Libya tomorrow to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 2006.
Ooredoo’s marketing director Houssem Abbassi said: “Ooredoo has made sport one of the main pillars of its brand strategy. The vision of the Ooredoo group is in line with the values that all sports disciplines convey.
“Ooredoo has chosen to focus on football as it is a national collective passion. Partnerships have been initiated in recent years with renowned Tunisian teams such as Club Africain or Etoile Sportive du Sahel. Our strategy also affects the youngest and amateurs since Ooredoo has initiated Ooredoo Foot Junior in recent years, which consists of organising national competitions on the 24 governorates and setting up academies.”
