Tulsa University switches from Nike to Adidas

Adidas has agreed a long-term deal to replace rival sportswear company Nike as the exclusive apparel partner of the University of Tulsa in the US.

The agreement will run for eight years, from the 2016-17 academic athletics season through to the end of 2023-24.

Under the deal, Adidas will provide the university’s 18 Golden Hurricanes sports teams with uniforms, apparel, footwear and various accessories on an exclusive basis.

Adidas will also produce various sideline apparel, coaches’ shirts, hats, jerseys, performance apparel and outerwear, which will be made available for Tulsa fans to purchase.

Derrick Gragg, Tulsa’s vice-president and director of athletics, said: “Aligning ourselves with Adidas, a national leader in shoe and performance wear, will certainly benefit our student-athletes and coaches.”

The all-inclusive deal, the first of its kind for Tulsa, will follow the conclusion of its existing partnership with Nike at the end of the current 2015-16 academic year.
