Trail Blazers and Daimler team up in environmental partnership

NBA basketball franchise Portland Trail Blazers has entered into a partnership with the Daimler Trucks North America division of automotive giant Daimler.

The multi-year deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, will commence in the 2014-15 season.

Under the deal, Daimler Trucks will become a corporate partner of the Trail Blazers.

Daimler Trucks will also benefit from branding on signage and basket support stanchions inside the franchise’s Moda Center home arena, as well as involvement in community engagement programmes.

In addition, the company will also work with the team on various environmental and sustainability projects such as the ‘Three for Tree’s’ initiative, which will run in partnership with Portland-based Friends of Trees. For every three-point shot made by the Trail Blazers, three trees will be planted in the Sandy River Delta area of Portland.
