Tokyo 2020 goes to school with EF Education First

The Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee for the summer Olympic and Paralympic Games has signed EF Education First Japan as its 39th domestic partner.

EF Education First was founded in Sweden and operates 500 schools and offices in over 50 countries. It specialises in language learning, educational travel, academic degree programs and cultural exchange.

EF is a long-term partner of Olympic Games and becomes the 24th official partner of Tokyo 2020, the second tier of the domestic sponsorship programme. The company has been attributed the category ‘Language Training Services.’

Tokyo 2020 president Yoshiro Mori said: “Providing omotenashi (Japanese-style hospitality) to the large numbers of athletes and sports fans from around the world who will be visiting Japan in 2020 is one of the most important tasks of the staff and volunteers who will support the Tokyo 2020 Games.

“EF has a wealth of experience and a proven track record in providing language services at previous editions of the Olympic Games, and I am confident that we could not have a better partner to support our language training efforts for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

“I very much hope that with this support, the Tokyo 2020 Games will serve as an opportunity to enhance English language abilities across the whole of Japan.”
