Title sponsor signs up for IAAF World Relays

The Bahamas Telecommunications Company has been named as the title sponsor of the International Association of Athletics Federations’ upcoming World Relays event in the Caribbean country.

The event, which takes place on April 22-23 at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, will officially be known as the IAAF/BTC World Relays Bahamas 2017.

It will mark the third time that the Bahamas has staged the event, with the country having hosted since its inception in 2014, staging its second edition in 2015. BTC has previously partnered with the event.

BTC chief executive Leon Williams said: “This is another ‘blue letter day’ in the history of BTC. Today, we are again stepping up to the plate, investing almost $400,000 (€371,000) in the youth of this nation to ensure that their limitless potential is met. By investing in the community, we are investing in a better future for the entire country.”

BTC join official IAAF partners Asics, Seiko and TDK, and official supplier Mondo, as a sponsor of the event. Other partners include Caribbean Bottling Company Bahamas Limited and various national suppliers and public institutions.
