Title sponsor secured for inaugural Masters Champions League

Indian payment services company Oxigen has been named the title sponsor of the new Masters Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament.

The inaugural edition of the MCL, which will take place in Dubai and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates from January 28 to February 13, will be officially named the Oxigen Masters Champions League.

As part of the agreement, Oxigen will engage in various events, on-ground activations and marketing campaigns over the course of the tournament.

“Oxigen as a brand has in a very short span created a niche and legacy in their market,” Zafar Shah, MCL chairman, said. “I am sure this will be a long and enriching affiliation for both stakeholders.”

The MCL comprises six teams, which each feature retired legends from the world of cricket. The opening fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium pits the Libra Legends against the Gemini Arabians. The two teams will be headlined by Indian legends Sourav Ganguly (pictured) and Virender Sehwag.
