Tim Hortons renews and expands Canadian curling deal

Restaurant chain Tim Hortons has extended its sponsorship deal with the Canadian Curling Association through 2018.

Under the terms of the new deal, Tim Hortons retains its position as the title sponsor of both the Brier – the Canadian Men’s Curling Championship  – and the Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials under a deal which is effective from the 2015 edition of the former event until the 2017 staging of the latter.

The financial terms of the extended partnership, which was established in 2005, were undisclosed but Tim Hortons also takes on two new naming rights slots with the CCA’s Discover Curling and Youth Curling participation programmes.

It is the second time the CCA has bolstered its commercial position this week, following a three-year agreement to make plant genetics developer and supplier DuPont Pioneer an official sponsor of its Season of Champions.
