Telstra backs Rugby League World Cup

Australian telecommunications company Telstra has reached an agreement to sponsor this year’s Rugby League World Cup.

Telstra will serve as an official partner of the national team event, which takes place in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea from October 27 to December 2.

The company has been assigned official telecommunications and technology partner status in Australia and New Zealand.

As part of the deal, Telstra customers will receive a 20-per-cent discount on match tickets through the Telstra Thanks service.

Telstra will also benefit from brand integration at matches played in Australia and New Zealand through in-stadium, virtual and LED signage.
