Tata lands Indian Premier League title sponsorship

Indian conglomerate Tata Group is to replace Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Vivo as the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League cricket competition.

The Times of India reports Tata will pay Rs6.7bn ($90.6m/€80m) for naming rights for both of the next two IPL seasons, significantly less than the Rs4.4bn per season paid by Vivo.
