Ecstar, the umbrella brand of Suzuki’s oil and chemical products, is to become the new title sponsor of the Japanese company’s motorcycling team upon its return to the MotoGP World Championship.
Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, it was confirmed that the Suzuki team will be known as Team Suzuki Ecstar for the 2015 season.
Ecstar branding will appear on team bikes as well as on the front of riders’ race suits and other race-day wear.
Ecstar is currently sold mainly in Japan, but Suzuki said the MotoGP relationship will aid its exposure in overseas markets.
The 2015 MotoGP season will commence with the Qatar GP on March 29.
