Struggling Jets build for future with Beechwood Homes

Financially stricken Australian A-League football club Newcastle Jets has boosted its off-field prospects by making housing developer Beechwood Homes a principal partner.

Beechwood Homes’ branding will feature on the front of Newcastle Jets’ playing shirts throughout the 2015-16 A-League season. The two parties will collaborate on a range of engagement initiatives for Jets members with a view to striking a longer term partnership.

The Jets are currently under the control of Football Federation Australia. Financial terms for the sponsorship were not disclosed

Former owner Nathan Tinkler initially put the club up for sale in August last year and was stripped of his A-League licence last month. Tinkler’s company that controlled Newcastle Jets was today (Thursday) placed into liquidation.

Beechwood Homes managing director, Vic Cavasinni, said: “The people of Newcastle and the Hunter deserve a team in the nation’s elite football competition and we are pleased to help out. As builders we know the importance of building on solid foundations. We believe that the new Newcastle Jets are putting those foundations in place now, so we look forward to the journey together.”
