Sportlobster expands NBA ties with Global Games London rights

Online sports network Sportlobster has expanded its partnership with the NBA to take in presenting partner rights to the North American basketball league’s 2015 Global Games event in London.

The game, featuring the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks, takes place at The O2 in the English capital on Thursday and marks the NBA’s fifth regular-season contest in London.

In addition to being the presenting partner of NBA Global Games London 2015, Sportlobster is the event’s official social media partner, allowing fans to engage with the NBA through ‘lobs’ and user generated content.

Sportlobster will also receive prominent brand exposure, including event logo inclusion, on-court and in-arena signage, and will host a number of fan activations and promotions leading up to the game.

Sportlobster tipped off its partnership with the NBA in October as presenting partner of NBA Global Games Berlin 2014, and associate partner of NBA Global Games Istanbul 2014.

“Our experience as presenting partner of the NBA Global Games in Berlin and Istanbul was second to none,” Andy Meikle, co-founder and chief executive of Sportlobster, said. “We received fantastic exposure and witnessed an influx of new basketball fans join and interact on Sportlobster, as they recognised the value of our sports social network and the multiple functionalities that come with it.

“Therefore, it only made sense to continue our collaboration with the NBA.  The excitement and attention around NBA Global Games London 2015 presented by Sportlobster will help to expand our reach around the world, particularly in the U.S., which is a focus market for us.”

Joining presenting partner Sportlobster for NBA Global Games London 2015 are marketing partners Adidas, BBVA, Capital Radio, Cisco, Foot Locker, Gatorade, SAP and Sprite.
