Special Olympics agrees healthy deal with Herbalife

Global nutrition company Herbalife has become a Games supplier of LA2015, the organising committee for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games.

In its role, Herbalife will support World Games participants and attendees, providing 300,000 nutrition bars to athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers and guests at all sports venues and general dining areas.

Additionally, Herbalife’s Los Angeles Distribution Centre in Carson will serve as the organising committee’s Uniform Distribution and Credentialing Centre (UDAC), and volunteer registration hub.

The Games, which will include 25 sports played by some 7,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities, will take place in Los Angeles from July 25 to August 2.

Patrick McClenahan, president and chief executive of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, said: “Herbalife is a global company that shares our commitment to health, diversity and community. Through its network of members in 90 countries, Herbalife will bring awareness to our mission of acceptance and inclusion.”
