Convenience store chain Spar International has enhanced its support of the upcoming European Championships by becoming an official partner of Glasgow’s hosting of the multi-sport event.
The inaugural European Championships run from August 2-12 in Glasgow and Berlin, and Spar had already signed on as the principal sponsor for the Athletics Championships held in the German capital. The chain will now serve as an exclusive cross-Championships sponsor.
Glasgow will stage aquatics, cycling, golf, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon events. As a principal sponsor of the Championships in both cities, Spar will promote health and wellness through activations at the event.
Tobias Wasmuht, Spar International managing director, said: “Spar has supported European Athletics for over 20 years and in that time, our partnership has gone from strength to strength. This year, we also supported the U18 European Athletics Championships, highlighting our focus on youth sport.
