Four leading triathletes, including reigning Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee, are to take part in a historic attempt to beat the record times for men’s and women’s iron distance triathlon in an event scheduled to take place next year.
The event, which is spearheaded by former triathlon World Champion Chris McCormack, chief executive of event organiser Mana Sports and Entertainment Group, has secured funding through a title sponsorship agreement with The Phoenix Foundation, the not-for-profit body that encourages sports participation among children.
