San Antonio Spurs pen multi-year deal with Taco Bell

US fast-food chain Taco Bell has entered into a partnership with NBA basketball franchise, the San Antonio Spurs.

Terms of the multi-year agreed were not disclosed.

Taco Bell will have a presence on the team’s various digital properties, as well as during broadcasts of Spurs games and inside the team’s AT&T Center home arena. Taco Bell will mark the new partnership by handing out 2,000 free crunchy tacos outside the AT&T Center prior to Spurs’ match against the New Orleans Pelicans tomorrow (Saturday).

The company will also run ‘Spurs Taco Tuesdays’ and ‘Spurs Taco Thursdays’ promotions, where fans can claim two free crunchy tacos when they purchase a large drink. The promotion is valid at participating Taco Bell locations in the San Antonio area.

In addition, the company is planning to open a Taco Bell Cantina location inside the AT&T Center, a facility that will be open on all game days.

Jeanne Garza, senior director of marketing partnerships for Spurs Sports and Entertainment, said: “The addition of a Taco Bell location at the AT&T Center will help enhance the fan experience and we look forward to collaborating on programmes that satisfy Spurs fans.”
