Samsung converts SARU deal

The South African Rugby Union has signed a two-year associate sponsorship contract with the national subsidiary of Korean electronics giant Samsung.

Under the agreement, Samsung Electronics South Africa becomes the official smartphone supplier to the SARU and the South Africa rugby team.

Samsung will provide all members of the national team with its latest range of mobile technology, including the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smart device and the Samsung Galaxy Gear wearable technology range.

Samsung joins Discovery, Acer, Gilbert, Europcar, Globeflight, Virgin Active, BSN Medical, Springbok Atlas and Klipdrift in SARU’s official supplier category.

South Africa is currently on its November tour to face northern hemisphere nations and beat Six Nations champion Wales 24-15 on Saturday. The Springboks take on Scotland and France over the next two weekends.
