Roland Garros sponsorships stall, but ‘ready to bounce back’ in 2021

The French Open tennis tournament expects slightly lower sponsorship revenues as a result of last week’s reduction in the number of fans allowed to attend Paris’ grand slam tournament, but has reasons to believe that sponsorship revenues will bounce back in 2021, according to industry sources.

Last week the French Tennis Federation was counting the cost of the French government’s decision to further limit the number of fans allowed at Roland Garros because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the impact on some sponsors that rely on footfall and/or hospitality to deliver value.
