North American NFL American football franchise the Washington Redskins has announced the business analytics company SAS as its official data analytics partner.
The length of the partnership was not disclosed, although the franchise aims to collaborate with SAS to improve engagement with its supporters.
With the help of SAS, the Redskins will develop marketing programmes to appeal to its fan base. SAS Intelligent Advertising will also be used to send communications and platforms to supporters through websites and mobile applications.
Jim Tobin, national sales executive, SAS sports industry practice, said: “Fans today know what they want and expect their favourite team to be able to deliver a customised and world-class experience.
“The SAS software will give the Redskins the tools they need to be able to deliver that experience.”
Terry Bateman, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer of the Redskins, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to better serve our customers and we think the SAS tools are among the best in the industry and will make us a more effective organisation.”
