Johan Eliasch, the Swedish businessman re-elected overwhelmingly as president of the International Ski Federation (FIS), has promised a period of “consultation” over plans to centralise commercial rights to the World Cup series, proposals that continue to be mired in legal challenges.
Speaking to delegates at the FIS Congress in Milan yesterday (Thursday), Eliasch, the former chief executive of sportswear manufacturer Head, vowed that the centralisation of the rights would “bring prosperity and great improvements to the entire FIS family”.
