Quick-Step sticks with UCI WorldTour team

Flooring manufacturer Quick-Step has agreed a two-year extension to its title sponsorship of Belgian UCI WorldTour team Etixx – Quick-Step Pro Cycling.

The contract, which was set to expire at the end of the current season, will now run until the end of the 2017 campaign. Quick-Step first became a main sponsor of the squad in 2003.

“Quick-Step has been there since the very start of our team,” Etixx – Quick-Step chief executive Patrick Lefevere said. “I believe our loyal and mutually beneficial partnership with Quick-Step is one of the most powerful in cycling. Quick-Step is part of the DNA of this team.

“Together we have written some great pages in cycling history and I'm sure there will be more to come throughout the next two years. We're proud to have two main sponsors with a profile that is so similar to that of our team: Belgian roots, but with an international impact and likewise recognition.”

The Quick-Step deal comes after it was announced in July that Etixx, the sports nutrition brand of healthcare group Omega Pharma, would take on its parent company’s co-naming sponsor designation from this season through 2017.
