Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club and Qatar Petroleum International, which represents the Gulf state’s energy portfolio globally, have signed a sponsorship deal encompassing this year’s horse racing showpiece, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Under the terms of the deal, QPI will sponsor the sixth edition of the Qatar Arabian World Cup, which will be run on the card of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp Racecourse, Paris on October 6.
The Group I €700,000 ($1.3m) contest is deemed the world championship for four-year-old and above pure Arabian horses.
