Qatar football bodies partner with Toyota, Ooredoo

Telecommunications group Ooredoo and Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota have agreed sponsorship deals with top-tier club football competition the Qatar Stars League, while the latter has also partnered with the Qatar Football Association.

The Qatar-based AAB Toyota division of the company has agreed a three-year deal with the two bodies covering the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons. It will sponsor a host of key competitions during this period.

Ooredoo will serve as an official business partner of the QSL for the 2016-17 season.

Ooredoo’s chief legal and regulatory officer, Sheikh Al bin Jabor Al Thani, said the company would work with the league to try and encourage more families and fans to attend matches.

Toyota joins Alkass and Zoom as second-tier official sponsors of the QSL, while Ooredoo becomes the league’s fifth third-tier business partner, alongside Woqod, Qatar Airways, Khazan Qatar and Qatar Charity.
