Pittsburgh Penguins score KeyBank partnership

US regional financial services company KeyBank has entered into a partnership with NHL ice hockey franchise the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The two parties have agreed a four-year deal, which will run until the end of the 2019-20 NHL season. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

KeyBank is in the process of merging with banking group First Niagara, which currently serves as the official retail bank and the official credit card of the Penguins. Under the new deal, KeyBank will assume the role of the Penguins’ official retail bank and will also become a founding partner at Consol Energy Center, the club’s home arena.

As part of the agreement, KeyBank will receive advertising exposure through signage at Consol Energy Center, while ATM machines at the arena will also be upgraded.

KeyBank’s merger with First Niagara is expected to be concluded by the third quarter of 2016.
