Piquadro enters football market with AC Milan

Italian leather goods company Piquadro has ventured into the world of football sponsorship by agreeing a partnership with Serie A club AC Milan.

The agreement for the 2018-19 season names Piquadro as the official tech travel partner of Milan. The club will utilise the company’s Brief backpack, Cubica trolley case and overnight bags when it is travelling to matches.

Marco Palmieri, founder and chairman of Piquadro, said: “At Piquadro we feel like a real team and this project represents an extraordinary opportunity to link our brand to the values based on challenge, performance and the teamwork of a great football club and to tell the passion with which we promote Italian excellence worldwide.”

Mauro Tavola, AC Milan’s partnership director, added: “This partnership shows once again how much the AC Milan brand is able to be cross-cutting. AC Milan and Piquadro represent elegance, class, but also modernity and internationality. Our two brands are well-known all over the world and they are both synonymous with excellence in sports and accessories.”
