Phoenix Suns lock in new partner

NBA basketball team the Phoenix Suns has entered into a multi-year partnership with German safety and security solutions provider Abus.

The agreement names Abus as the official lock of the Phoenix Suns. The first-of-its-kind category partnership for the Suns is also the first US sponsorship for Abus, whose North American operations are headquartered in Phoenix.

Abus will benefit from in-arena brand exposure during Suns games, participate in co-branded premium item giveaways and receive promotion across the team’s broadcasts and digital channels.

Abus will also sponsor the Suns’ year-round weather report, which is displayed in Phoenix’s Legends Entertainment District.

As part of the agreement, the first 4,000 fans in attendance for the Suns’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 22 will receive an exclusive Suns and Abus co-branded lock.

Abus will also team up with Women’s NBA franchise the Phoenix Mercury on the Brittney Blocks initiative, which will see a donation made to charity each time Mercury star Brittney Griner records a block during the 2018 season.

Johannes Bremicker, president and chief executive of Abus USA, said: “This agreement is part of our corporate strategy to extend the brand visibility of Abus. Also headquartered in the Valley, we feel the Suns are a perfect match as we both have a strong history of success and are building for an even greater future.”
