Patriots secure naming rights partner for new facility

US insurance company Cross Insurance has acquired the naming rights to a new hospitality facility at Gillette Stadium, the home of NFL American football franchise and Super Bowl XLIX champion the New England Patriots.

Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, the new facility will be known as the Cross Insurance Pavilion and Business Centre.

The facility, which is due to open this summer, will be located inside the grounds of the Gillette Stadium.

Cross Insurance already had an existing deal in place with the team, under which it serves as the official insurance broker of both the Patriots and Gillette Stadium.

The team had signed an initial deal with Bacardi USA for the naming rights to the facility, but the liquor company opted to pull out of the agreement. In response, the Boston Globe newspaper said the team has filed a lawsuit against the company.

The Patriots yesterday (Sunday) beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX, the NFL’s showpiece end-of-season event.
