Kazakh electronics store chain Technodom and Air Astana, the national carrier of Kazakhstan, have signed up to support the 2017 Winter Universiade, which takes place next year in Almaty, the largest city in the country.
Air Astana will become a general partner of the multi-sport student event and will provide discounts for regional and international flights for both athletes and officials.
The airline will also support the running of the torch relay before the event, as well as provide its own channels of communication to promote Almaty 2017.
Meanwhile, Technodom will support the event by providing more than 500 units of technical equipment for use in facilities, such as the main operations centre, press centres and accreditation centre. After the event has concluded, all technical equipment will be donated to sports schools in Almaty.
The Almaty 2017 Winter Universiade runs from January 28 to February 8.
