Parma hoovers up main sponsor extension

Italian Serie A football club Parma has signed a one-year extension to its shirt sponsorship deal with vacuum cleaner manufacturer Vorwerk Folletto.

The Italian arm of the German household products company has served as Parma’s main sponsor for the past two seasons, with the partnership now set to continue until the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

Patrizio Barsotti, president of Vorwerk Folletto, said: “The visibility gained in these years with nine million Italians who go to the stadia and the 43 million that follow football has allowed us to let them know even more about our brand and the professional opportunities we offer. We continue to prefer this model to introduce ourselves because it is less invasive than, for example, commercials that interrupt the game.”

The Emilia–Romagna club currently sits seventh in Serie A, one point and two places behind Inter Milan in the final European qualifying slot.
